Two If By Sea
Art Subjects | Creative Explorations By Water
The tides will tell.
Join us for a 2-hour hands-on painting workshop exploring one of the most studied subjects in art: the sea. During this Painterly class, we’ll share several approaches to painting waterscapes—either figuratively or abstractly—and set students loose on a playful creative journey of their own. Example compositions will be provided to guide the process + stoke your imagination.

Humans have long been fascinated by water, and artists paint waterscapes to capture the beauty, power, and ever-changing mood, using it as a symbol of emotion, freedom, mystery, or the sublime. The sea’s movement, light, and vastness offer endless inspiration and technical challenges.
