Wild Flowers

Art Subjects | Explorations of Art’s Favorite Muse

Flower [super]power.

Join us for a 2-hour hands-on painting workshop exploring one of the most studied subjects in art: flowers. During this Painterly class, we’ll share several approaches to painting flowers + set you loose on a playful creative journey of your own. Example compositions will be provided to guide the process + stoke your imagination.

  • Rooted in ancient art and still prevalent today, depictions of flowers can be found in many of the most significant art movements throughout time. Captivating artists with their symbolism (beauty, growth impermanence, transience), the enduring appeal of flowers lies in their ability to evoke emotions, create a sense of peace, and connect viewers to the natural world.

  • Not many artists (though some deliberately avoid flowers for this reason). Even famous painters like Vincent Van Gogh, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and Yayoi Kusama.
