Along The Lines
Art Foundations | Explorations in Form, Perspective + Drawing
Drawing a line.
Join us for a 2-hour hands-on painting workshop that introduces several art foundations taught in art school, including an introduction to form, perspective, and drawing. We’ll then set out on a playful journey to explore the power of lines on our own. Example compositions will be provided to guide the process + stoke your imagination.

Being able to control a line (i.e., rendering) is the first step to making art. Our ability to perceive lines, shapes, depth, and distance is foundational to any art practice, and how artists deliberately play with and distort these foundations assists with the development of their personal style.
-
Sure. Here’s a little more:
Form | The art foundation of form refers to the visual element that defines the shape and structure of objects in space, giving them volume and depth.
Perspective | The art foundation of perspective is a technique used to create the illusion of depth and space on a flat surface by depicting objects smaller as they recede into the distance.
Drawing | The art foundation of drawing involves using lines, shapes, and shading to represent objects, ideas, or scenes as the basis for visual expression and composition.
